Tradition on the March X

Arbor decora et fulgida,
ornata regis purpura,
electa, digno stipite
tam sancta membra tangere!

The past few weeks have seen another torrent of good news.  We'll start with more news from the Eternal City.  First, the Ascension Day schedule:

[T]he FSSP will celebrate a solemn High Mass for Ascension Thursday at San Gregorio dei Muratori, at 6:30 pm (1830).  Also, the Solemnity of the Ascension will be celebrated with a Missa Cantata in the Dominican Rite at the Angelicum at 1 pm (1300).

Second, a Traditional Solemn Requiem Mass was offered by the Roman Traditionalists for the recently deceased Princess Eliane Radziwill on Spy Wednesday.  Fr. Fromageot, F.S.S.P has now posted pictures from the Month's Mind Requiem Mass (Click on the picture to see the whole collection).

Perhaps the biggest news in recent weeks has been that another Prince of Holy Church has graciously deigned to celebrate a Pontifical Mass in the Traditional Roman Rite. As reported by The Cornell Society for a Good Time and The Latin Mass Society of Ireland, His Eminence Joseph Cardinal Zen celebrated a Solemn Pontifical Mass on the occasion of the 5th Anniversary of the granting of the Indult in Hong Kong. Not only did His Eminence perform the complex sacred Rites willingly, he even went so far as to chant the Preface in the Tonus Solemnior! Please, please, Holy Father, give the red hat to more men of this calibre! Click on the picture for the full album:

Stepping down a couple of Ecclesiastical rungs, we come to the level of the Diocesan Bishop, namely Bishop Robert W. Finn of Kansas City - St. Joseph. His many great deeds, deeds that have driven the heretics at the National "catholic" Distorter absolutely apoplectic, have been recounted in great detail by our fellow Evil Trad, The Curmudgeon:

The particular deed that we'll focus on here is that Bishop Finn has upgraded the Indult there to a Parish, at an Oratory staffed by the Priests of the Institute of Christ the King, and has named himself as the Pastor!

The Evil Trad at In illo tempore reports that another man with a mitre, Dom Gérard Calvet, recently celebrated a Solemn High Mass for his 50th Priestly Jubilee. In the pictures it can be seen that Abbot Gérard's work to preserve, protect, and pass on the Traditions of the Church and his Order have not been in vain -- look at all those young monks with full tonsures!

Tradition is certainly on the march, and picking up speed! I'm sure I have neglected many happenings in the Trad world, so I beg my readers to send me tips to aid me in compiling the forthcoming installments of this series.
